If you were planning on taking your Halloween disguise to another level this year, there are plenty of places to show off your hard work.
While you’ll certainly be appreciated wandering around the fitness center dressed like Austin Powers or stepping into the spa in your Aquaman costume, there’s a place where you can compete against some of the best in the Rocky Mountains.
MileHiCon 43 is the state’s oldest science fiction convention and one of their most enjoyable traditions is the annual Costume Contest. The Masquerade is broken into categories for novices, masters, Award for the Children and the Best of Show Award. The invite is open to anyone, whether you want to compete or just show off to an adorning crowd.
Granted, to compete in this competition you must be dressed in something that’s derived from Fantasy, Anime, Theatre, Mythology and ‘other realms of the imagination’. Winners in the past have had a presentation and you’ve got up to two minutes to walk the catwalk and show off the extras that makes your altered personality special.
If you want to participate, you must register with the Masquerade Staff at the MileHiCon on Saturday, Oct. 22 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. It will take place at the Hyatt Regency-Tech Center, south on Wadsworth Boulevard to I-70 West and I-25 South. The single day pass for this event is $22 available at the door.
You can email MileHiCon for more information, but be sure to share your photos from the event on our Facebook page.
